Europa Affekt: Ausstellung drei australische Künstler in Frankfurt/M.

As a continuation of international exhibions Atelierfrankfurt is pleased to host three Australian Artists; Guy Benfield, David Harley and Simone Slee. This exhibition presents work from these artists, who have collectively spent the last 1249 days in Europe. Both Guy Benfield and Simone Slee were the 2004 recipients of the prestigious Australian Stipendium: The Anne and Gordon Samstag International Travelling Scholarship which has sent Guy Benfield to Maus Maus in Lisbon, Portugal, and Simone Slee to the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste Städelschule Frankfurt am Main. David Harley has been an International Gastkunstler at AtelierFrankfurt.
The show will comprise a fusion between collaboration and individual works by the artists using video, painting, animations, large scale abstract digital wallpaper and objects posing as sculptures.
The artists share an interest in the: tenuous membrane of the personal and intimate in a public context, an intrigue with the façade of design, and the borders between display and person.
